Studio Seven have recently launched a new initiative
at their Workshop at New Brewery Arts, Cirencester. They are staging a
series of mini installations of their work to inspire and tempt visitors
to look closer. As well as wonderful art pieces, each exhibition includes
a collection of affordable items made specifically for each theme.
'Stitch for Victory' Currently
showing until 12 April 2010 an
installation with a patriotic feel, exploring the reworking of old
garments and beautiful scraps of cloth. The exhibition includes several
stunning pieces from the Make Do and Mend exhibition premiered at the
Stroud International Textile Festival in 2008 and which has just closed
after a second sell-out run at the Museum in the Park in Stroud. Available
to buy are wonderful bags from vintage tailored suits by Kathryn Clarke
and Union Jack cushions from exquisite devore fabrics by Liz Lippiatt, as
well as a host of other goodies by the other Studio Seven artists.
'Seven Pairs' Opening 13th April 2010
An exhibition of seven
beautiful pairs of shoes, one by each of the Studio Seven artists. This
will be followed on 12 May by an exclusive exhibition of headpieces by
Sarah Cant.

Studio Seven will again be playing a major part in this year’s. Their
exhibition 'Remnants',
an intrigue of seven stunning artworks, one made by each of the artists
from an identical selection of raw materials.
Sunday 2 May 2010 Two
exclusive film screenings of the film Cut 2 on Fold
Telling the story of the 2009 Cut 2 on Fold
performance project from inspiration through to final performance,
accompanied by a display of the stunning costumes that arose from the
interactive installation at the 2009 Festival. Screenings are at 2pm and
4pm at Stroud Valleys Artspace and tickets, £3, are available from Stroud

SVA Textile Studio Opening The
SVA Textile Studio will be open for a stunning show of artists’ work,
featuring the work of resident artists Liz Lippiatt, Sarah Jenner,
Francesca Chalk and Corinne Hockley and guest artists from Studio Seven,
Jenny Bicat, Kathryn Clarke, Sarah Cant, Sarah Pearson-Cooke and Anne
Rogers. Come and meet the artists and see the diverse range of
contemporary pieces that they produce.
