'Through their collaborative and interactive process, Studio Seven has become a potent and consistently inventive force in the field of textiles, installation and performance.'

Quote from Stroud International Textiles Festival 2011 Brochure

Studio Seven is an exciting group of textile designers, established as The Textile Workshop in 1985 and re-formed with the current collective of seven artists in 2006.

Working independently as high profile designers they have jointly worked tohgether for the last six years producing a colourful and lively range of modern accessories for fashion and for home ,demonstrating their wide range of knowledge and experience of ‘dye, print, cut and sew.

In 2007 Studio Seven began working on collaborative projects which bring textiles to audiences in new and surprising contexts. The ground-breaking, Arts Council-funded ‘Textiles in Performance’, a site-specific collaborative project combining textiles, dance, sound and architecture, premiered at the Stroud International Textile Festival in 2007. This highly successful project was followed in May 2008 by the equally successful interactive installation, ‘Make Do & Mend’, which became the star attraction of the 2008 Stroud International Textile Festival. This year Studio Seven is pleased to present Cut 2 on Fold, a new interactive multi-faceted textile installation, which explores the journey from flat pattern to calico toile to finished garment to the wearing of the garment.
